According to the poll by Novus for the Göteborgs-Posten newspaper and the broadcaster TV4, support for the party has leapt by 1.9 percentage points in a couple of weeks to take it to 5.8 percent, the highest level of support the pasty has seen since the 2022 election.
The poll marks that first time since the new government was formed in October 2022 that the party has polled above the 4 percent parliamentary threshold, in a shift that could change the entire dynamics of Sunday's election, putting a victory for the four Tidö parties within reach.
"Even if the Liberals get 5.8 percent, that would be internal cannibalism," Jonas Hinnfors, emeritus professor in politics at Gothenburg University, told the TT newswire after the result.
