Police shoot middle-aged man in Sandviken
A middle-aged man was shot by police on Sunday during an arrest in Storvik in Sandviken municipality.
The man was shot in the lower body and taken to hospital. Police would not give details on the severity of his injuries, although they said he was conscious and speaking at the time he entered the ambulance.
The man has also been arrested, although police have so far declined to disclose the crime he stands accused of.
"It's too early in the investigation and the charges may change in the future," explained Waybe Seretis, a police spokesperson. "We are not going to go into the chain of events [which led to the shooting]. That's something for the special prosecutor."

Floods near Jönköping after heavy rain
Heavy rainfall in the Jönköping region led to power cuts, a car accident, and flooding, with rescue services called out to a school in the Vaggeryd where the walls were half a metre under water. State weather forecaster SMHI was on Sunday warning of cloudbursts and heavy rain across a swathe of central Sweden.
Lotta Torgrim, a resident in Vaggeryd, the worst-hit area, told public broadcaster SVT that the flooding and broken apart her garage door, and badly damaged the car that was parked inside.
“The garage door is completely wrecked. The water has smashed the door apart,” she said. "Our neighbour was standing below the balcony shouting at us, but by then it was already too late to get the car out. I thought, 'please, don't tell me this is going to happen'."
SMHI on Sunday was forecasting more heavy rain over night and on Monday, with southwest Småland, Kalmar and Öland particularly badly affected.

Trains replaced by buses over Öresund Bridge
Track work on the Öresund Bridge led to trains being replaced by buses on Saturday and Sunday, with the restart of services then delayed by more than six hours on Sunday evening – a day when Copenhagen Airport was expecting a record 123,000 passengers.
The work, which had been planned in advance, saw three replacement buses departing from Kastrup every five minutes throughout the day and night, with few travellers forced to wait.
"This is no big problem for me," Marcus Felix, one traveller, told TT. "I'm just on my way back to Copenhagen where I live, and it doesn't affect me too much if I'm a bit late."
Pontus Tobsjö, operations leader of Öresundståg, the company which operates trains over the bridge, said that it had not been able to order enough replacement buses to cover the delayed reopening on Sunday.
"The ambition is to always order as many buses as needed. But there is also a limited supply. We have had over a thousand departures just during these two days when the track work was underway," he said.
The plan was for train departures to resume at 2pm, but at 8pm they had still not begun.

Man seized for suspected rape in Malmö
A man has been seized in Malmö on suspicion of raping a woman near Värnhem Square in Malmö in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called to the scene at 4am on Sunday. Martin Jönsson from the Malmö police said that officers were carrying out interviews on Sunday.
