The national weather agency, SMHI, warns that there is currently a high to extremely high risk of wildfires in parts of the country.
In large swathes of north-western Götaland, the risk of forest fires is high, very high, or locally extremely high, from this past midnight until 11pm on Wednesday.
The same warning applies to parts of Blekinge, eastern Skåne and southern Öland between noon and 11pm.
In eastern Svealand and parts of Östergötland, the risk is high or very high between midnight and 11pm.
SMHI is urging the public to exercise caution when lighting fires or operating heavy machinery that could cause sparks.
According to the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency, two water-scooping aircraft are on a 180-minute standby in Södermanland until Friday afternoon. Additionally, two helicopters are on a 30-minute standby in both Kronoberg and Västra Götaland.
