If you're voting before Election Day, you can find all early-voting stations in Sweden here. You can vote at whichever one you choose, it doesn't have to be where you live.
If you're voting on Election Day, you can find your designated polling station on your voting card, which you will have received either digitally (if you’ve got a digital mailbox such as Kivra) or by post.
The rest of the procedure is pretty much the same regardless of whether you're voting before or on Election Day.
Once you get to the polling station, there are essentially three steps:
1. Go straight to a booth which contains all the ballot papers for all three elections: national (yellow), regional (blue) and municipal (white).
Take the ballot paper that belongs to the party you wish to vote for in each election. If you can’t find your party, you can take a blank ballot and write your preferred party’s name on it.
You will also get three envelopes, either from an election worker or take them yourself.
Before you do anything with those envelopes, you go to the next booth, alone.
2. In this booth, you put one ballot paper for each election you’re voting in, in each envelope. If you want to vote for a specific candidate, you can put a cross in the box next to their name, but you don’t have to. You can only vote for one candidate in each election.
If you need help, you can always ask an election worker. They have to keep your vote confidential, so you don’t need to worry about showing them your ballot. You can also bring a friend with you into the booth, but an election worker then also has to be present.
3. You then go to the desk to submit your vote. You have to show your ID, but you don’t need your voting card. An election worker will put your votes in a box and tick off your name.
